FELDSPAR

Gemstone family that includes several varieties of gemstones such as moon stones, labradorite, amazonite, rhodocrosite and rhodonite. Its name comes from the German words “feld” which means field and “spalten” which means split: multi-bladed fieldstone.

MOONSTONE (See products)

The moonstone is a gem of the family of feldspars. It has a milky appearance, can be colorless or of a pale yellow color with a bluish highlights (lunar). Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it displays adularescence; in other words, there is a noticeable shimmering effect beneath its surface. It is usually cut in cabochon. The main deposits are in Sri Lanka, Burma, Brazil, the United States, India and Madagascar.
