Long fringe earrings made a combination of various colored aluminum chains
Material
- 2 aluminum jump rings, 24 mm, dark blue
- 22 jump rings, 5 mm, silver
- 45 cm of aluminum curb chain, 4.4 mm x 2.8 mm, dark blue
- 67 cm of aluminum curb chain, 4.4 mm x 2.8 mm, blue
- 94 cm of aluminum curb chain, 4.4 mm x 2.8 mm, silver
- 2 earring hooks
Tools
- 2 chain nose pliers
- Flat nylon jaw pliers
- Cutter pliers
- Ruler
Making the four 12 cm chain sections
Step 1
Cut 4 segments of 2.5 cm of the dark blue chain. Cut 4 segments of 4 cm of the blue chain. Cut 4 segments of 5.5 cm of the silver chain.
Step 2
To assemble the chain segments, open the link positioned at the extremity of the dark blue chain using two chain nose pliers. Insert the link positioned at the end of the blue chain and close the link so they remain together. Do the same with a segment of silver chain and place it after the blue chain that was already assembled.
Step 3
Repeat steps 1 and 2 in order to obtain four 3-colored chains of 12cm, each ranging from dark blue to silver.
Making the five 11 cm chain sections
Step 4
Cut 5 segments of 2.5 cm of dark blue chain. Cut 5 segments of 3.5 cm of the blue chain.Cut 5 segments of 5cm of the silver chain.
Step 5
Insert a 5.5 cm jump ring in the last link of each 3-colored chains, at the end of the dark blue section.
Assembling the chain sections
Step 6
Insert a 5.5 cm jump ring in the last link of each 3-colored chains, at the end of the dark blue section.
Tip :Open and close your rings using two chain nose pliers.
Step 7
Open a 24 mm aluminum jump ring and pass it in the 5 mm jump ring of an 11 cm chain segment. Use the same technique to thread a 12 cm chain segment. Keep doing this by alternating the 11 and 12 cm chain segment. Close the 24 mm jump ring.
Finishing touch
Step 8
Link the earring hook of your choice to the 24 mm jump ring using two 5 mm jump rings inserted in one another.
Step 9
Repeat all these steps to make the second earring.
