2 holes punch

Tool used to make 1/16 in and 3/32 in holes. It allows to easily pierce soft metals of a caliber of up to 24. It is also possible to pierce leather sheets. The tool is very easy to use : put the material inside of one of the jaws and turn the screw clockwise.

Aluminum Crochet Hook Set

Anvil

Tool used when forging, hammering and shaping metals. This tool consists of a flat face and tips to its edges. One of the tips is conical while the other has a right angle. Awl

Ball-peen Hammer

Tool used to hammer and forge metal wires made of aluminum, copper, brass and precious metals. It’s made of a metal head and has a flat face and a round or pointy peen. The surfaces determine the texture and finish of the hammered element. The face of the hammer flat hammers, whereas the round peen textures the metal by making small cavities. The sharp peen allows making grooves in the metal. The wooden handle softens the choc and is built so that the hand is positioned at the exact spot of the center of percussion, which optimizes the hammer’s use. Use it on an anvil or a bunch of steel as a hammering surface.

Battery Operated Bead Reamer

Tool that has a handle and two interchangeable diamond file tips of various sizes. It cleans, regularize or widen beads. Battery operated, it’s faster than the manual one and is particularly effective with organic beads such as pearl, seashell, coral and wood. Submerging the bead in a recipient filled with water during filing is recommended to prevent the beads from overheating. Replacement tips are sold separately.

Bead Reamer Replacements Tips

Diamond tip that cleans, regularize and or widen beads’ holes such as fresh water pearls, seashells, corals, wood, metal, resin, glass and plastic. This tip is used as a replacement tip for electric or manual bead reamers.

Bead Stopper

Small stainless steel spring used to block strings of an on-going project and thus avoid loosing beads. It has two loops at its ends. To open it, pinch the loops one against the other, this will open the spring and enable an easy threading of strings. It can withstand up to ten strings. This small tool is very useful for multiple row creations and to fix strings from on-going projects that you have to put aside for a while. Ideal for flexible strings, it also works with nylon coated steel string and metal wires.

Beading mat

Small mat that is usually used as a working surface. Made from a durable foam and washer safe it’s mainly used to prevent beads from rolling everywhere. It can also be used as a cushiony hand rest when threading.

Beads loader

Tool that enable a rapid threading of a great amount of small beads on a string. Simply pour the beads to thread in the bowl and pivot the bowl on its base using the central rod. Threading is easily done thanks to the curved needle that follows the loader’s curves. Simply insert a string in the needle then insert the needle in the moving loader. This tool is one of the best to thread seed beads of the same diameter without any specific sequences.

Bobbins for Kumihimo braiding

Soft plastics bobbins that are used with the Kumihimo braiding disc. They block strings and allow for an equal tension on each of them. Lift the flexible part of the bobbin and wrap the string in the middle, then replace the part you just lifted so it can hold the string in place. These bobbins are essential to prevent your strings from knotting together. They are also great to store any kind of strings. They are available in packages of eight medium size bobbins of 5.8 cm of diameter.

They can also be used for beads with a diameter of 2.5 mm. However, the macro pliers are better suited to that task and more effective.

Cross-Lock Tweezers

Long tweezers with pointy arms. They are mainly used to take hold of objects. The tweezers’ reversed pressure enables them to hold objects without having to exert any type of pressure or even hold it in our hands. Thus, it’s useful when trying to keep together elements that are going to be glued together, when welding (jewelery) and when picking up small objects such as rings, strings or when dislodging a string stuck in a weaving piece.

Curved beading needle

Flexible stainless steel needle with a central eye that is compatible with strings of any diameter. User friendly, both ends of this needle are hard and sharp. The curved end on one side makes it the ideal tool to use with the beads loader as the curved end of the needle will follow the loader’s curve and facilitate the threading of small pearls.

Curved Chain Nose Pliers / Bent Chain Nose Pliers

Very useful pliers that can be used as second chain nose pliers. With their sharp curved nose they allow for meticulous projects. They are mostly used to open and close jump rings and for chain mail projects.

Cutter Pliers

Pliers used to cut through strings made of steel and covered of nylon, copper strings, silver string, fishing line and eye pins or straight head pins. Pliers of various alloys and sizes exist. It is important to pay attention to these characteristics as some pliers may be damaged by the kind of string being used notably by the memory wire or a string of a caliber that is too big.

Dropper

A pipette is a small tube used to collect and measure liquids. Pipettes can be made of glass or flexible plastic. Some are graduated to measure liquid. For jewelry making, pipettes are used to collect liquids such as casting resin and paint. The pipette also helps when pouring liquids in accessories that are hollow. Depending on the material with which it was used, the pipette can be cleaned then reused. For example, a pipette that was used with casting resin can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol whereas a pipette used with Pebeo Prisme Fantasy paint can be cleaned with mineral spirit.

Economic Pliers

The economic pliers have the same functions as the ergonomic pliers but the handles are thinner and can be less comfortable after a couple of hours of consecutive work.

Electronic Caliper (Battery operated)

Electronic tool used to measure beads, stones and any other small objects. It is equipped with two flat tips. The object to be measured is placed in between the two tips. It measures up to a hundredth of a millimeter and displays it on its screen. The electronic caliper uses the metrical system but also offers imperial measurements. It has a maximum capacity of 10 cm. The electronic caliper offers a faster and easier reading than a manual caliper.

End Cutter Pliers

Sharp pliers that have the shape of end cutter pliers, which is why it shares the same name. The pliers’ blades open perpendicularly towards the hands, which enables a more precise cut. Some are slanted and others are thinner on one side to allow for a more precise cut. They are used to cut through steel strings covered with nylon, copper strings, aluminum strings, silver string, fishing line, eye pins or straight head pins. Do not use these with memory wire.

Ergonomic Pliers

Ergonomic pliers have the same functions as economic pliers but they have ergonomic handles designed by specialists. They allow for a better comfort when working and thus avoid the risk of tendinitis. After a couple of hours of consecutive work the difference in terms of comfort can be felt.

Finger Ring Triboulet / Finger Ring mandrel / Finger Ring stick

Calibrated conical tool that can measure rings, shape them into the right size or hammer them if needed. Ideally used with soft metals such as aluminum and copper.

Flat and Cutter Combo Pliers

Multifunctional tool that combines the flat and cutter pliers in one handy tool. This tool shapes, bends, grabs, holds and even cuts strings. Use both of the flat arms to manipulate the strings and then cut them with the sharp part located in the middle of the pliers. These pliers are suited to work with soft metal strings such as copper, aluminum or silver.

Flat and Round Combo Pliers

Pliers that combine the flat and round nose pliers in one handy tool. Indeed one arm is flat while the other is round. These pliers are mainly used to curve strings without making a hollow scratch on the exterior part of the curve, which would happen with traditional round nose pliers. These pliers are suited to work with soft metal wires such as copper, aluminum or silver.

Flat Nylon Jaw Pliers

Pliers used with metal wires such as copper, aluminum and brass. Thanks to their nylon covered jaw, they can easily work with copper and aluminum without damaging the color or scratching the wires. They also smooth wires before shaping them. They offer a good grip but are not recommended for precision work.

Flexible Weaving or Threading Needle

Flexible stainless steel needle with a central eye that allows for strings of any diameter. User friendly, both ends being hard and sharp, it can be used on either side, which makes it an ideal tool to weave or to thread beads.

Flush Cutter Pliers

Pliers used to cut short strings with more precision than regular cutter pliers. Indeed, since the blades are flat on one side, they cut the string without leaving any frayed edge. Just hold the flat side oriented in the direction of the desired section. Moreover, their pointy end allows them to cut pieces of strings that are hard to reach. It is used to cut through any kind of string. However, it is unwise to use it with the memory wire because it could alter the sharpness of the blades.

Graduated beading worktop

Working area used to design the layout of beads and the color schemes. This tool allows you to visualize the positioning of the beads while at the same time enabling you to know the jewelry piece’s measurements. The bead board also has compartments to put beads and finishing products.

Half Round Nose and Nylon Jaw Combo Pliers

Pliers used to make curves or large eyelets with metal wires without damaging their surface. Equipped with a half-round nose arm and a flat arm covered with a protective nylon coat. The nylon-covered edges allow working with metal wires such as copper, aluminum or silver without leaving scratches or indentations.

Jig template plate

Tool that includes a holed plate and a set of round pegs of various diameters. It allows the making of metal wire pieces of regular or assorted shape, mesh craft, connectors etc. This tool is especially useful to reproduce and maintain symmetry in the making of jewelry (earring for example). Jump ring finger ring

Tool that facilitates and accelerates opening and closing jump rings. Insert it on your index or middle finger and slide in the jump ring in the appropriate slot depending on the thickness of the ring. Open or close with a torsion of your wrist. Openings of various sizes enable the insertion of rings of various sizes. It’s highly important to use this tool with chain nose pliers in your other hand.

Knotter tool

Tool that has a handle, a sharp metal tip and a mobile guide that position the knot as close as possible to the threaded bead. As its name indicates, this tool facilitates regularizes and quickens the process of knotting.

Kumihimo Braiding Disc

Tool used to braid. It helps with flat braiding and tubular braiding with 8 or more strands, which is harder to make with only our hands. It consists of one disc with split edges that are numbered. To achieve the braiding, cross the strings by moving them from one split to the other, following the user manual. The braiding can be done with different types of wires or thread such as copper, cotton, nylon, leather and wool. The end results are limitless. Indeed, the size and kind of wire, the number of wires used, the color and the disposition of the wires on the disc are all factors that multiply the braiding possibilities when using the Kumihimo disc.

Loom

Tool made of a metal base. The base has two separating springs and two thumbscrews. The screws are each inserted in a wooden bobbin that has a nail that stretches the chain’s strings. The chain is made from the rows of strings that guide and support the weaving. The weft is made of the intertwining of the chain’s strings and the weft thread that constitutes the weaving. This tool is used to make regular and flat weaving. It is ideal to make large simple patterned bracelet.

Magnifying glass

Tool that has a magnifying glass that facilitates working with small objects or making minute projects such as weaving or threading small pearls. Some have a foot base to put them on a table whereas others can are worn around the neck and rest on the chest. In both cases your hands are free to work on your jewelry piece.

Manual Bead reamer

Manual Caliper

Tool used to measure beads, stones and any other small objects. It is equipped with two flat tips. The object to be measured is placed in between the two tips. The fixed part indicates where to take the measure whereas the sliding part is calibrated and serves as a ruler. This caliper uses the metrical system but also offers imperial measurements. It has a maximum capacity of 10 cm. The indentation on its inferior part allows to measure up to a tenth of a millimeter. However this reading is more complicated and requires a little bit of practice.

Manual Knitting Spool / Manual French Knitting Tool

Tubular tool that enables circular knitting and makes knitted tubes. It includes a knitting needle that has a notch and a hollow cylinder equipped with 4 hooks. While knitting, the string is moved by the needle and successively winds around the four hooks. The knitted thread thus falls down slowly in the middle of the knitting tool up until the desired length. It can be used with flexible cords such as cotton, silk, wool and copper. To vary the results, it is possible to thread beads on the string and to incorporate it to the knitting tool or to insert beads in the middle of the knitting tool. The word spool refers to the technique called spool knitting and also designates the tool that is used.

Memory wire shear / Memory Wire Cutter Pliers

Robust pliers that can cut almost effortlessly very strong strings thanks to its crossing blades. Very good quality pliers that are used to cut soft metal strings such as copper strings or though strings such as steel and titanium. They are essential when cutting memory wire or large mesh chain. Tool used to stamp. The brass head weighs 1 Lb which allows the stamp to be hit in a single motion with great force. It also decreases the chances of bounce backs or incomplete impressions. Use it with metal stamps and an anvil.

Metalic Wire Twister

Small handle that allows you to make standard twists with metal wire. You can even make them with 5 different wires! Use your twisted wires to add a refined touch to your mesh crafts or your other projects. Use it with metal wires such as copper, aluminum or silver, and use a caliber equal to or lower than 16.

Nylon head hammer

Odourless mineral spirit

Mineral spirit is an odourless solvent that allows to clean tools that were used to apply oil paint, varnish or other mediums such as Pebeo Prisme Fantasy paint. Mineral spirit is transparent but can change color with time without affecting its efficiency. Mineral spirit can also be used to dilute paint colors. It is also a great alternative to turpentine.

One step Looper Wire Looping Pliers

Tool used to make loops in a jiffy. These pliers allow to make loop and then cut the excess metal wire in three easy steps. It allows to easily make charms and eye-pins of various personalized lengths. The loops thus created are all of equal dimension. Use it with metal wires that have a caliber between 18 and 26.

Oval Springs and Rings Maker

Tool used to make oval coiling wires. This oval rings maker has three oval mandrels of various sizes. The chosen mandrels and metal wire are fixed to the support. With simple rotation movements, the metal wire wraps around the mandrel and creates a spring. Cut the spring to obtain oval rings. Use it with flexible metal wire such as copper, aluminum or silver.

Pliers set

Protective coating

Mixture in which you dip your pliers, whether round or flat, to coat them with a protective film. Once dry, the mixture solidifies and forms a rubbery coat. This protective coat covers the edges of the pliers to reduce pressure marks, skid marks and scratches on the metal wires, due to manipulation. This film is not harmful to your pliers. Since it’s not permanent, you can simply peel it off to remove it and dip it again to renew the process. Do not use it with cutter pliers.

Thread burner Thread Zap II

The Thread Zap II tool is a precision tool used to burn string ends. It consists of a thin extremity made from a metal string that vehicles heat when we press on a button. The heat then burns the string and cuts it. Its thin end allows for an even cut on strings, near the knot for example, where the scissors cannot reach. The thread burner tool can be used with different types of strings, such as silk strings, cotton strings and nylon strings (WildFire, K.O., FireLine, etc.). It is often used to finish a seed bead weaving as it hides the string ends. The extremity of the tool is fragile, which is why it is recommended to avoid putting pressure on the end and to put the cap back on between each use. Additional ends are sold separately. This tool functions using AA batteries that are not included in the package.

Wax for strings of low caliber, notably weaving strings. The wax prevents the strings from fraying. It is also used to facilitate threading and prevent any knots from forming. This non-greasy wax is very effective on strings made of silk, nylon, cotton, linen and delicate metal stings. Simply slide the strings on the wax and remove any excess by sliding the strings between fingers.

Wire Looping Pliers

Pliers especially designed to make loops and regular eyelets. They have a conical part and a hollow part and they can curve strings with very little pressure. Thanks to its concave part, the string is automatically curved onto the round part. They facilitate, improve and accelerate the formation of simple or double eyelets. Wire Rounder

Tool that has a concave edge that rounds or softens the edge of a metal wire.
